Tori, Tyson, Lisa, and Mandee came to visit us at the St. George Temple Visitor Center.
It is so much fun to watch and play in the swimming pool, especially with grandpa.
We were serving at Brigham Youngs home on Friday.
Lisa and Marcia and the grandchildren came by to visit us at Brigham Youngs home.
Elder Bowcutt told them about the settling of St. George and Brigham Youngs office.
Sitting in the waiting room next to Brighams bedroom.
We are standing on the front porch of the Brigham Young home.

We have been blessed to have family visit us from Northern Utah.  Lisa and her Children arrived Tuesday night as Tori is moving to St. George to attend Dixie University.  She is moving into an apartment with 5 other girls and this will be a good experience for her to become a bit more social.  Marcia arrive Thursday evening with her children.  It is so good to visit and see how our grandchildren have changed in just a short period of time.  It is great to just play with them!
I had an another amazing experience last night at the Temple Visitor Center.  It was around 8:30 p.m. when four people, Roman Catholic, came into the Annex.  They were in there 20's and were from Italy.  They wanted to know about the St. George area as to how it is important to the history of our Church.  Of course that question opened up many other questions as I was able to share with them the Restoration, Temple importance, Families, Joseph Smith and Brigham Young's stories.   They wanted to know how our religious beliefs were different than theirs.  They were very interested as we talked about the BOM- (the second witness) and how Joseph Smith was led to it to translate in the 1800's.  They all left with Books Of Mormon in Italian language.  We exchanged email addresses and we will see if they will communicate with me about reading of the BOM.  Words just came into my mouth as I was speaking with them!

August 1, 2013  Today was our anniversary.  We served at the St. George Temple Visitor Center.
We actually celebrated our 44th wedding anniversary on Wednesday, 31st, our PDay.  We went golfing in the morning, then we went to the temple and saw the new video for the endowment session.  It was really amazing.   We are looking forward to seeing it again. We went out to dinner that night.  It was a great day.

Once a month we have a Hi and Goodbye party with all the Senior Missionaries.  They had a western themed party.  We played two games. We tried to toss cowpies (paper plates with brown tissue paper to look like a cowpie) into a box.  We tied the first two games, then on the third try I aced three cowpies , then your dad won the game by throwing 2 more pies into his box.  So exciting.  The next game we tried to milk plastic gloves to see who could get the most milk in the bucket.  We didn't do very well as we broke both of the plastic cow udders.  Ha, Ha.

Friday, August 9, we went to the Snow Canyon 11th ward party up at Pine Valley.  The bishop took our pictures in front of the chapel.  This is the oldest chapel where worship services are held in the church.  The  church was constructed in 1864??  It was a very nice event.

I was in the Temple Visitor Center on Friday, 9th.  It is amazing how many Guests come to these Historical Sites.  We are well on our way to having 300,000 this year.  Anyway, a couple came in from LaQuinta, Calif.   He was Catholic and she claimed to be Methodist.  I doubt either one practice their religious beliefs.  They were very interested in our Temples and our Church.  After about an hour with them, me teaching and testifying, she said, "I really want to read your Book of Mormon."  Of course I gave her one, one that I had received from my granddaughter, Kylee, with her testimony in it, prior to our Mission.  She said she would email me and let me know what she thinks/feels as she is reading.  The Spirit was very strong, and she was much more interested than her husband.  This is typical of the experiences we are having.  It is amazing just to ask our Guests what questions they have about us or our Church and then just listen for the Holy Ghost to guide my words!
Having a great time,
DAD
