December 13.  I walked out into the kitchen and just glanced out the window when I saw this animal run across the golf course.  It ran into the sage brush.  I went and got my camera just in case I saw it again.  A big crow was flying down into the brush.  Then I saw a coyote come out on to the golf course again.  The crow would not give up.  It kept flying over the coyote and would land a few feet away then fly off as the coyote approached it.  They played with each other for nearly 5 minutes.

We had time to go and listen to some of Toris concert performances.  Inspiration choir sang at the Dickens festival on the Scrooge stage then at a diner for church volunteers.

It started to snow on Saturday Nov. 30 and it just kept snowing.  St. George was not supposed to get snow, but for some strange reason we had to make the news.  So this is what we woke up too.

We went to the Temple Visitor center the next morning and the sister missionaries were so excited.  Some of them had never touched or seen real snow.  They were from the islands in the Pacific.  It was a fun, fun, day.
Daniel and Tayler came down to St. George.  Daniel was interviewing for dental school at UNLV.  Tayler helped me decorate for Christmas.   She made this cute wreath for the entry way.

Lisa , Bick, Mandee, Tyson and Tori were here for Thanksgiving.  It was so nice to be able to share this holiday with family.  We enjoyed them so much.  They helped us decorate the rest of the home for Christmas.   Lisa and the kids decorated our christmas tree.  They did a wonderful job.

By the way, mother is always the one posting to this blog.  Dad is not interested, unless he has had a great story to tell.   Well the week of Nov. 18 through the 21 was a really busy one.  It is a tradition at the historical sites to put up decorations for Christmas.  The senior missionaries do all the decorating.  On the day after Thanksgiving, they turn on the Temple Christmas lights.   It is a really big event.  Lots of people come to the St. George Temple.  They have the temple president speak and choirs sing.  Everything is decorated to bring in the Christmas spirit.

Elder Bowcutt is sitting in the waiting area for       missionaries at Jacobs home.  He's waiting for the next group of visitors

This is the family room at Jacobs home.

The family room is located on the second floor of Jacobs home.  They slept here, had school, parties, church in this room.

We are in the St. George Tabernacle.  This is where they will hold Christmas concerts every night before and after Christmas.  There is really alot of wonderful musical talent in St. George.

This is the nativity display at the Visitor center.
This Christmas tree is in the Brigham Young home.
On Thursday Nov. 21 Jay and I served at the Brigham Young home in the morning.  When our shift was over we left for awhile but came back to his home.  A college roommate of mine was sitting on the front porch of the house.  I was sitting in the car and Elder Bowcutt brought them over to the car.  Doug and Mary Jane Anderson were looking for us and decided to visit Brighams home.  What a wonderful surprise to see them and go to dinner with them that evening.

November 2013
The month of November kept us busy as we served at all the historical sites and the St. George visitor center.  The amount of visitors that come to the historical sites has really slowed down.  We invited all the senior missionaries to come to our home for a Senior party on Nov. 14.  Doug Alder a local author and historian was invited to share with us the history of St. George.  When the missionaries arrived, there was also a beautiful sunset to the west of us, so we took some pictures.

ANOTHER GREAT EXPERIENCE AT THE VCENTER
Sunday- October 27, 2013

I was in the VC Annex just visiting with everyone that came in and THEN there was this couple from Germany.  I was standing at the desk and welcomed them.  We exchanged small talk and they said they were in St. George on business and would be back every 6 months or so.  They had been surrounded by LDS members that past few days and just could not stop talking about the difference they readily saw in us vs. there countrymen in Germany.  Kind, listen, positive, happy, secure are just a few of the things they noticed.  They stopped by the VC to learn about "Mormons" and our beliefs.  They asked if members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints were also the people they had been with called Mormons. They had no clue about us or our beliefs other than the goodness they saw in their business associates in St. George that are LDS.  I was with them for over 50 minutes explaining about our Church, Prophets, the Restoration of the Gospel, Temples, etc. etc.  They were like sponges as I just could not feed them fast enough.  They identified themselves as he- Catholic, she- Protestant.  They both took a Book of Mormon in German, and promised to read and pray about it.  They also said they were open to Missionaries in Germany visiting them, but wanted to read first.  We will see if they will email me with their thoughts as they read.  I hope to see them again, when they are back here in 6 months.
The Church is TRUE!  Our EXAMPLE is always on display!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GRANDPA JAY
How does it feel to be 65?

It was a beautiful day to play golf.  The only problem was he had no competition.
We play golf at Green springs.  We decided it was an expensive day of golf.
We lost way too many balls
We drove to Virgin then turned north and drove up to Kolob resevoir.
We continued driving to the top and looked out over Zions canyon.

We just had to take some more pictures.
Makell, Lindsey, and Kylee are sitting on Grandmas new chair everyone gave me for my birthday.

Wow!  Those are the cutest kids I've ever seen.

Saturday, October 19, 2013 Kevin and Allyson blessed their sweet little daughter Monroe Grace.
It was a very special day for everyone.  Many family and friends came to share the joy of having Monroe be a part of their lives.
Big sister, Harper, loves her little sister, Monroe.  She calls her Roe, Roe.
She gives her hugs and kisses all the time.

We had our annual Halloween Birthday Party to celebrate all the birthdays that are in the month of October.  The grandkids dress up in their favorite costumes to thrill all of us.
It was a really fun night for everyone.

                                                           It's costume time.  Hey smile.

Hey Kari where are you hiding?  It was your birthday too.
Sweet little Monroe even got to dress up.  She is a lady bug.
I don't think she was too impressed as her costume kept tickling her face.
Look at those two cute fairys, or were they angels?
                                                              Staying out of trouble
It is hard to have to wait your turn at the pinata.
Wyatt and Harper loved batting away at the pumpkin filled with treats.
                                                             Pretty cute costumes.
Friday, Oct 18 we served at Brighams winter Home.  Jay is telling the family about the mulberry tree that had tree surgery in 1972.  A turnbuckle was put into the tree to keep it from spliting apart.  Surgery, steel rods, and cables gave new life to this historical tree and remind us of the Saviors atonement that provides salvation and eternal life to all mankind.
The family are looking for pecans that have fallen on the ground.
Brighams home has alot of treats for those who come to visit.
