Final Week as Senior Missionaries

This is our last week of our Mission here in St. George.  We have truly enjoyed serving here in the Red Rocks of Southern Utah.  We love the historical sites and the visitor center at the Temple.  On Monday, we served in the morning at the Brigham Young Home.  We had our picture taken at Brighams as that will be our last day there.  On Tuesday we went to the tabernacle and enjoyed taking people through the tabernacle.  That afternoon we drove to Manti with the Clarks and helped the staff there by manning one of three booths.  We handed out brochures and cards about the Savior and the pageant.  Over 6,000 people came to the pageant June 24.

The Pageant at the Manti temple started at 9:30pm.  Before the pageant the cast members came out into the audience and handed out brochures and cards.  Their costumes were amazing.  They didn't mind having their pictures taken at all.

HAPPY FATHERS DAY GRANDPA
Thanks again for all the wonderful letters and cards.
It's nice to be reminded how much you're loved.

On the 16th of June, we hosted a Hawaiian luau for the Senior Missionaries.  Brother and Sister Kaona shared their Hawaiian recipes so we ate authentic food from the Islands.  I actually ate raw tuna and had a salad with raw salmon soaked in sea salt.  Pretty good.  We ate coconut pudding for deseret.

Sister Kaona taught the ladies how to hula.  Wow we were a really impressive sight.
The Elders were taught how to dance as well.
Sister Kaona was so gracious.  She shared her love of the islands
by dancing for us.  We really love them.
This was our good-bye party.  It is so sad to think that we will not
be missionaries in two more weeks.  We loved serving with these wonderful people.

Some days are just more special than others!

On Friday, June 6, the young men and their leaders came and stayed overnight
with us at our St. George home.  They had a great time swimming in the pool.
Elder Bowcutt and I were serving at the St. George Temple visitor center.
A group of young boys from Phoenix came into the annex and visited with
Elder Bowcutt then came into the temple visitor center by the Christus and
sang for all the visitors in the center.  They were the best choir of young men
that I have ever heard.  They sang "America the beautiful"  wow!!!!!!
As usual, I had to fight back the tears.  What a wonderful experience.
Thank you for the wonderful Fathers day gifts.  The edible fruit basket
was a really nice surprise.  We went and picked it up after
our shift at the Visitor center.  It really tastes so yummy.
We are so thankful to have such a wonderful sweet family.
Daniel and Tayler came down to St. George and we enjoyed playing golf
with them on our P-day.  We even had copper-mill steaks for dinner one night.

May 24, 2014 Preparation Day Excursion to Bryce Canyon

On our preparation day we decided we needed to get away from St. George
for awhile.  We drove to Bryce Canyon.  I really
was not prepared for the beauty that we saw.  It was amazing.

The one thought I had in my mind about southern Utah was
that our Father in Heaven knew that the beautiful landscape of
this area would be the key to drawing millions of His children
to come and see for themselves how magnificent His world
could be.  This is really why we have so many visitors
come to St. George and want to learn about the first settlers who
lived in this part of the country.  What a wonderful place
to serve and be able to share the Gospel with people from all
                                                                     over the World.
